The Year of a Showgirl - January - The Fate of Ophelia

Poppets, it’s a new year — and this year we’ll be exploring the legend that is Taylor Alison Swift’s new album, The Life of a Showgirl.

With only one official music video, this club becomes my version of the album — what I see, feel, and imagine when the music plays.

January is The Fate of Ophelia.

The Fate of Ophelia feels like a love song spoken softly but with absolute certainty. It’s devotion without hesitation, affection worn openly, and the kind of romance that doesn’t need to shout to be heard. There’s vulnerability here, but also safety — being seen, chosen, and held with care.

It’s the moment where surrender isn’t loss, but trust. Where softness isn’t fragility, but strength. A song about loving deeply and being met there in return.

How the Club works

Each month, I’ll share a collage inspired by that month’s song. The yarn colours are pulled directly from this image — translating feeling into fibre.
